SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T : During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.08 inches in Payathonsu, 3.98 inches in Putao, 3.82 inches in Hainggyigyun, 3.35 inches in Kawthaung, 3.11 inches in Mongyang, 2.83 inches in Dawei, 2.56 inches in Ye, 2.28 inches in Gwa, 2.20 inches in Belin, 2.12 inches in Hpa-an and 1.89 inches in Mogaung.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin, Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
