SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin States and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.78 inches in Myawaddy, 6.57 inches in Kawkareik, 5.58 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 4.33 inches in Dawei, 3.97 inches in Payathonsu, 3.69 inches in Thandwe, 3.07 inches in Ye, 3.03 inches in Gwa, 2.60 inches in Paing Kyone and 2.20 inches in Machanbaw.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Kachin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall will experienced with moderate to rough seas will experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
