24-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Tanintharyi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago Region and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.96 inches in Taunggu, 4.21 inches in Ye, 3.86 inches in Hainggyigyun, 3.63 inches in Dawei, 3.43 inches in Myitkyina, 2.84 inches in Wakema, 2.21 inches each in Momate and Pathein, 2.16 inches in Mogaung, 2.10 inches in Ngaputaw and 2.08 inches in Myeik.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Shan State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
