24-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Tanintharyi Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.61 inches in Meiktila, 4.13 inches in Dawei, 4.10 inches in Ann, 3.50 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.04 inches in Mawlamyinegyun, 3.03 inches in Taunggyi, 2.77 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.60 inches in Paung, 2.56 inches in Gwa, 2.44 inches in Mudon and 2.42 inches in Ngazun.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 8th June 2024: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.
