25-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Eastcentral and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” over North Bay of Bengal has continued to move nearly Northwards and centered at about (175) Nautical miles West of Maungdaw, (210) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe,  (255) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Kyaukpyu, (Myanmar), (95) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara, (110) Nautical miles South of Mongla, (Bangladesh), (85) Nautical miles Southeast of Sagar Island, (110) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Digha and (100) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Canning (West Bangal, India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous over the Eastcentral Bay. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 27th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in  Yangon , Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in  Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady ,Taninthayi Regions and Kachin,  Chin, Rakhine, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph. Squall with rough to very rough seas at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (45-55) mph.  Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (13-16) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon into Central Myanmar Areas.
