25-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Eastcentral and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States and 2°C above May average temperatures in Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayin States, 2°C below May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and 3°C below May average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were observed 40.8°C in Myinmu, 40.3°C  each in Mandalay and Tada U(Aviation-Met), 40.2°C in Homalin, 40.1°C in Zaung Tu, 40.0°C each in Moemate and Shwebo, 39.6 °C in Tamu and 39.2 °C each in Hkamti and Monywa on 24-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.45 inches in Hainggyigyun, 5.33 inches in Mawlamyinegyun, 4.41 inches in Wakema, 4.33 inches in Labutta, 3.39 inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met), 3.27 inches each in Phyarpon and Einme, 3.11 inches in Hlegu, 2.93 inches in Ngapudaw, 2.91 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 2.88 inches in Bago and 2.86 inches in Bogale.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwards and centered at about (310) Nautical miles Northwest of Coco Island, (290) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Hainggyigyun, (265) Nautical miles West of Thandwe (Myanmar), (220) Nautical miles Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), (240) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), (240) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sagar Island and (265) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Canning (West Bangal, India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal of Bengal and weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40-45) mph. Squall with rough to very rough seas at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (50-60) mph.  Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (13-18) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States.
