25-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Eastcentral and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States and with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. Day temperatures were 5°C to 6°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions, 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C above May average temperature in (Northern and Eastern) Shan State and about May average temperatures in Kachin and Chin States. The significant day temperatures were observed 45.6°C in Chauk, 43.8°C each in Minbu and Magway, 43.5°C each in Myingyan and Nyaung Oo, 43.0°C in Tada U (Aviation-Met), 42.5°C each in Monywa, Myinmu and Taungdwingyi and 42.3°C each in Aunglan and Zaung Tu on 18-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.20 inches in Meiktila, 1.57 inches in Kawthaung, 1.50 inches in Mandalay(Aungmyethazan), 1.34 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 1.20 inches in Paing Kyone, 1.14 inches in Mudon, 1.10 inches in Tatkon, 1.09 inches in Patheingyi, 0.98 inch each in Pyinmana (Walgyi), Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) and Paung.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Southern Shan, Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Kayin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-8 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of thundery activities in the Southern Myanmar areas.
