SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady, Tanintharyi Regions and Southern Shan State, scattered in Bago, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Kayin States and isolated in Kayah, Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 5°C to 6°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States, 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State and 2°C above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were observed 42.6°C in Aunglan, 42.5°C in Taungdwingyi, 42.0°C in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), 41.5°C each in Minbu and Shwekyin, 41.3°C each in Nyaung Oo, Chauk and Magway and 41.2°C each in Pyay, Ngathaichaung and Mawlamyine on 12-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.27 inches in Pantanaw, 0.87 inch in Falam, 0.74 inch in Bogale, 0.59 inch in Dedaye, 0.47 inch each in Yangon(Mayangon) and Myeik, 0.40 inch each in Maubin and Kyaiklat, 0.32 inch in Kyaukme and 0.24 inch each in Naung Shwe, Hakha and Khayan.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Kayah States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight increase of day temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions.
