SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Kachin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, Chin and Rakhine States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Pinlebu (5.71)inches, Mogaung (5.20)inches, Khayan (4.37)inches, Kani (4.33)inches, Mingin (3.98)inches, Monyin (3.82)inches, Gangaw (3.70)inches, Kanbalu (3.62)inches, Hmawbi (3.58)inches, Myitkyina (3.38)inches, Tiddim (3.35)inches, Mawlamyine (3.23)inches, Belin (3.19)inches, Ann and Thaton (3.03)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 18th July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kayah State, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwdy Regions, Kachin,Chin, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in the Coastal areas.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 18th July, 2015: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
