SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Rakhine State. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in (Northern and Southern) Shan, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan, Kayin States, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon Regions and Kachin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine States and 3°C below May average temperature in Kachin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were observed 42.3°C in Chauk, 42.0°C each in Myingyan and Pyay, 41.7°C in Shwekyin, 41.5°C in Taungdwingyi, 41.3°C in Aunglan, 41.2°C each in Myinmu and Magway and 41.0°C each in Nyaung Oo, Minbu, Sinbyugyun, Tharrawady, Nyaunglaybin, Gyobingauk and Ngathaichaung on 9-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.50 inches in Pinlaung, 1.18 inches in Mogoke, 1.02 inches in Myeik, 0.73 inch in Singu, 0.67 inch each in Hsipaw, Moemate and Mingaladon (Aviation-Met), 0.63 inch in Taunggyi, 0.56 inch in Naypyitaw(Pobbathiri), 0.51 inch in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and 0.46 inch in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri).
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Southern Shan, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan State, Scattered Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
