26-12-2024:According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is partly cloudy over the Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Bago Region and Kachin, Southern Shan States and isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States and 2°C above May average temperatures in Northern Shan, Rakhine States and 2°C below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State, 5°C below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin State and about May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States. The significant day temperatures were observed 42.3°C in Myawaddy, 41.4°C in Zaung Tu, 41.2°C each in Tharrawady and Ngathaichaug,  41.0°C each in Taungdwingyi and Hinthada, 40.8°C in Bago, 40.7°C in Gyobingauk and 40.6°C each in Shwekyin and Theinzayet on 7-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.86 inches in Taunggu(Avia-Met), 1.61 inches in Kengtung, 0.98 inch in Mongyang, 0.82 inch each in Namsam(Southern Shan) and Kawthaung, 0.59 inch in Nyaunglaybin, 0.43 inch in Minesat and 0.31 inch each in Shwekyin and Dawei.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, scattered in Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States.
