SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States, 2°C above May average temperatures in Bago Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and 2°C below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin State, 3°C below May average temperature in Magway Region and 7°C below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in Naypyitaw and (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Chin States. The significant day temperatures were observed 41.4°C in Tharrawady, 41.2°C each in Zaung Tu and Ngathaichaung, 41.0°C in Pyay, 40.9°C in Aunglan, 40.3°C in Myawaddy, 40.2°C each in Bago and Hinthada and 40.1°C each in Hmawbi and Khayan on 3-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.83 inch in Ann, 0.12 inch each in Tamu, Monywa and Minbu and 0.04 inch each in Machanbaw, Nyaung Shwe and Kyeikkhame.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Chin, Rakhine States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Shan, Kayah States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather is partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.
