SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, scattered in Northern Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Southern Shan State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 5°C to 6°C above May average temperatures in (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, 2°C above May average temperatures in Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and 3°C below May average temperature in Kachin State and about May average temperature in Magway Region. The significant day temperatures were observed 44.0°C in Minbu, 43.8°C in Tada U(Aviation-Met),  43.4°C  each in Monywa and Pyay, 43.2°C in Gangaw, 43.1°C in Aunglan, 43.0°C in Sagaing, 42.8°C each in Mandalay and Tharrawady and 42.4°C in Zaung Tu on 1-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.70 inches in Mogoke, 1.18 inches in Thabeikkyin, 1.06 inches in Monywa, 0.91 inch in Putao, 0.43 inch in Myitkyina, 0.28 inch in Machanbaw and  0.20 inch in Homalin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay Region and Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.
