SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and isolated in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 5°C to 6°C above April average temperatures in Sagaing Region and (Northern and Southern) Shan State, 3°C to 4°C above April average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State, 2°C above April average temperatures in Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C below April average temperature in Kachin State. The significant day temperatures were observed 45.8°C in Chauk, 45.0°C each in Sagaing, Myinmu and Myingyan,  44.6°C  in Magway, 44.5°C in Naung Oo, 44.4°C in Minbu and 44.0°C each in Mandalay, Tada U (Aviation-Met) and Sinbyugyun on 30-4-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.22 inches each in Putao and Machanbaw, 0.51 inch in Tamu, 0.39 inch in Falam, 0.24 inch in Mawlaik and 0.04 inch in Muse.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan, Chin States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 2nd May 2024:                     Likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 60%.
