SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been farily widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, and isolated in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above April average temperatures in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan State, 2°C above April average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine States and 6°C below April average temperature in Kachin State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 47°C in Chauk, 44°C each in Monywa and Tada U(Aviation), 43°C each in Mingin, Sagaing, Yeu, Myinmu, Myingyan, Minbu and Magway. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were 1.23 inches in Myitkyina, 1.11 inches in Hkamti, 0.23 inch in Putao and 0.16 inch in Machanbaw.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd APRIL 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight increase of day temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin States.
