SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, light rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State. Weather has been generally fair in Bago Region and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above March average temperatures in Kachin, Eastern Shan States, (2°C) above March average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) in Chauk and (40°C) each in Shwebo, Myinmu, Myingyan, Magway, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi, Ann, Pyay, Taunggu, Shwekyin, Tharrawady, Phyu, Laydatpyin and Myawaddy.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th March 2024: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-7) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Shan States and isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
