SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above December average temperature in Kayin State, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States, (5°C) to (6°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (5°C) in Hakha, (10°C) in Tiddim, (11°C) each in Putao and Tongzan. The noteworthy amount of rainfalls recorded were (1.05) inches in Nyaungdon, (0.48) inch in Pinlaung, (0.28) inch each in Namsam(Southern Shan), Loilin and Mongyang.
BAY INFERENCE : According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “MICHAUNG” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about (670) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island, (755) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun(Myanmar), (140) Nautical miles East of Puducherry, (140) Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai, (210) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Nellore and (275) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Machilipatnam(India). Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 04th December 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern) Shan State, scattered in Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
