SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kachin, Rakhine States, widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan, Chin States and with regionally heavyfalls in Magway Region and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above November average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States, (3°C) above November average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and (5°C) above November average temperature in Southern Shan State and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (7°C) in Hakha, (10°C) in Tiddim and (12°C) in Tongzan. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.03) inches in Maungdaw, (2.89) inches in Buthidaung, (2.87) inches each in Kyauktaw and Sittwe, (2.56) inches in Tiddim, (2.44) inches each Falam and Ponnagyun, (2.36)inches in Kyaukphyu and (2.40) inches in Htilin.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “MIDHILI” over Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northeastwards now lies over Northwest Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (220) Nautical miles West- Northwest of Sittwe, (185) Nautical miles West of Maungdaw, (Myanmar), (145) Nautical miles East-Northeast of Paradip, (100) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Digha (India) and (90) Nautical miles Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh). Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th November 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in (Northern and Southern)Shan State, scattered in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in off and along Rakhine Coast and (5-8) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.
