SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayah, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.80) inches in Maungdaw, (2.67) inches in Htilin, (2.59) inches in Manaung, (1.90) inches in Kyeitlat, (1.89) inches in Sittwe, (1.77) inches in Pauktaw, (1.66) inches each in Kyauktaw, Kya-In-Seikkyi and (1.61) inches each in Hakha and Thazi(Hlaingtat).

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “HAMOON” over Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northeastwards and intensified into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “HAMOON” over Northwest Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (290) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Thandwe, (190) Nautical miles West of Sittwe, (170) Nautical miles West-southwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar), (160) Nautical miles East of Paradip(India), (150) Nautical miles Southeast of Digha (India), (125) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), (190) Nautical miles Southwest of Chittagong. Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Bago, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Chin and Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay and Magway Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squall with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40-45) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in off and along Rakhine Coast and (4-7) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon ststes.
