BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic storm “HAMOON”over Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northeastwards and now lies over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (355) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Thandwe, (275) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe, (260) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar), (110) Nautical miles Southeast of Paradip, (150) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Digha (India), (205) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh). Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 24th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Bago, Yangon , Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah  State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (3-5) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.
