SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Southern Shan, Mon States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.69) inches in Hainggyigyun, (1.49) inches in Pinlaung, (1.22) inches in Dawei, (0.74) inch in Ela, (0.55) inch in Ye, (0.47) inch in Kyiekmayaw and (0.43) inch in Taungkok.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a well marked low pressure area now lies over Southeast Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely initially to move Northwestwards and further intensify into a depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal on (22.10.2023). Thereafter, it is likely forecast to move North-Northeastwards towards Bangladesh coast and adjoining West Bengal coast, India and further intensify on (25.10.2023). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Mon States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather has been partly cloudy the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 22nd October 2023:            Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (60%).
