BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely initially to move Northwestwards and further intensify into a depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal on (22.10.2023). Thereafter, it is likely forecast to move North-Northeastwards towards Bangladesh coast and adjoining West Bengal coast, India on (25.10.2023). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Tropical Storm “Sanba” over the Gulf of Tonkin has downgraded into a Tropical Depression. It is likely forecast continuous to move Southwards and weaken gradually.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 21st October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Southern Shan,Mon States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather has been partly cloudy the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
