SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and Deltaic Myanmar areas. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.58) inches in Maungdaw, (2.91) inches in Sittwe, (2.72) inches in Labutta, (2.55) inches in Mogoke, (2.52) inches each in Katha and Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), (2.24) inches in Paung Byin, (2.13) inches in Shwe Kyin, (2.05) inches in Monyin and (1.97) inches in Sinbyugyun.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Eastern Shan, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of weak monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
