SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah  State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.14) inches in Labutta, (3.50) inches each in Ye and Chaungsone, (3.43) inches each in Dawei and Launglon, (3.19) inches in Pyay, (2.95) inches in Myauk U, (2.83) inches in Hainggyigyun, (2.72) inches in Gwa, (2.68) inches in Yangon(Northern Dagon) and (2.64) inches in Pauktaw.

 

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (6-8) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of moderate monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
