SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States, fairly widespread in Kayin State, scattered in Magway Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.18) inches in Launglon, (2.36) inches in Kawthaung, (2.17) inches in Paung, (2.12) inches in Myeik, (2.08) inches in Myawaddy, (2.04) inches each in Hpa-an and Mawlamyine, (1.81) inches in Coco Island and (1.65) inches in Maungdaw.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Cell over the Northeast Thailand still persists and it is likely forecast continue to move Westwards.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 - 11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5 - 7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
