SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past
(24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain have
been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in
Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions,Chin State, scattered in Bago Region,
Kayin and Mon States, isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated
heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of
rainfall recorded were Maungdaw (7.72)inches, Sittwe (2.32)inches, Gwa (2.24)inches,
Kyauktaw (2.09)inches, Myauk U (2.05)inches, Naypyitaw (Zabuthiri) (1.93)inches
and Hkamti (1.70) inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and South
Bay and moderate elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 3rd July, 2015: Rain will be isolated
in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay
Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon
and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States,
widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated
heavy falls in Rakhine State.Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times
Gulf of Mottama,off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed
in squalls may reach (30 - 35) m.p.h.
Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar water.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain
in the Southern Myanmar areas.
