SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the Northeast Bay of Bengal and Central Myanmar areas. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayah, Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.67) inches in Myitkyina, (1.90) inches in Coco Island, (1.61) inches in Hakha, (1.57) inches in Mongyang, (1.54) inches in Loikaw, (1.30) inches in Dawei, (1.18) inches in Machanbaw, (0.98) inch in Tiddim, (0.87) inch in Mawlamyine and (0.79) inch each in Okkan and Gangaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Cell over the South China Sea still persists.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Northern Shan, Chin states and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 26th September, 2023:                Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
