BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Southern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
