SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Northern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.59) inches in Kawkareik, (5.55) inches in Paung, (5.20) inches in Hpa-an, (4.80) inches in Paing Kyone, (4.41) inches in Sittwe, (4.13) inches in Pauktaw, (3.85) inches in   Mawlamyine, (3.74) inches in Mogaung, (3.69) inches in Pantanaw, (3.38) inches in Thaton and (3.36) inches in Ponnagyun.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal now lies over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to become more marked and move across south Odisha coast (India) during next (48) hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan States . Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
