SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.34) inches in Mudon, (5.47) inches in Thaton, (5.31) inches in Chaungsone, (4.00) inches in Paing Kyone, (3.98) inches in Kawkareik, (3.86) inches each in Hpa-an and Mawlamyine, (3.78) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (3.74) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (3.27) inches in Kunlong and (2.95) inches in Hlaingbwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
