SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.77) inches in Thaton, (4.13) inches in Kyonpyaw, (3.74) inches in Gwa, (3.35) inches in Kyaukpadaung, (3.04) inches in Minbya, (2.98) inches in Kangyidaunt, (2.96) inches in Bago, (2.87) inches in Paung, (2.71) inches each in Ye and Kyeikkhame, (2.68) inches in Mudon and (2.40) inches in Nyaung Shwe.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) mph. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (7-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
