SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Bago Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.34) inches in Manaung, (3.38) inches in Myingyan, (2.44) inches each in Shwegu and Hainggyigyun, (2.37) inches in Myitkyina, (2.25) inches in Nyaung Oo, (2.04) inches in Rambree, (2.02) inches in Sinbyugyun, (1.98) inches in Saw and (1.97) inches in Thandwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 08th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
