SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (8.11) inches in Ye, (6.46) inches in Dawei, (5.83) inches in Launglon, (4.92) inches in Myeik, (4.13) inches in Chaungsone, (3.46) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.56) inches in Naypyitaw(Dekkhinathiri), (2.44) inches in Kawthaung, (2.28) inches in Pakokku and (2.20) inches in Belin.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts(India) still persists. It is likely to move nearly Westwards and cross south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh during next (24)hours. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 06th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi coasts and (6-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

 OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in coastal areas.
