BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Haikui” which crossed the Taiwan Island yesterday downgraded into Severe Tropical Storm “Haikui” and reached over South China Sea. It is likely to move Northwest wards and cross the Southeast coasts of China on (5.9.2023).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 04th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph to (40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
