BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (18:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Haikui” which has crossed the Eastern Part of Taiwan Island is likely to continuously move West wards and downgrade into Severe Tropical Storm “Haikui”.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 04th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph to (40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
