SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Kayah, Kayin States, scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (7.01) inches in Mudon, (5.75) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (4.65) inches in Ye, (3.20) inches in Kawkareik, (3.07) inches in Gangaw, (2.92) inches in Maungdaw, (2.88) inches in Nyaung Oo, (2.82) inches in Pauktaw, (2.68) inches in Hmawbi and (2.56) inches in Sinbyugyun.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Haikui” over the Phillippine Sea is likely forecast to move West-Northwestwards and may cross Taiwan Island during next (6)hrs.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 04th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Kachin, (Northern and eastern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
