BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, Typhoon "Saola", which passed near Hong Kong, the southern coast of China is forecast likely to move West-Southwest along the southern coast of China and gradually weaken.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 02nd September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region and Rakhine and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Northern and Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
