BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Saola” over the South China Sea is slowly moving Westwards. It may reach the near Southern coast of China, Hong Kong during next (6) hrs.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 02nd September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kachin, Northern and Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
