BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Saola” over the South China Sea is likely forecast to move West-Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 31st August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in  Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region.
