BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Saola” over the Phillippine Sea is likely forecast to move North-Northeastwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 28th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
