BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Tropical Storm “Saola” over the Phillippine Sea has intensified into a Typhoon "Saola". It is likely to move Southwards slowly.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 26th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
