SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (7.32) inches in Hainggyigyun, (6.16) inches in Htilin, (5.31) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (4.37) inches in Dawei, (4.25) inches in Ngapudaw, (3.51) inches in Thaton, (2.95) inches in Hpa-an, (2.79) inches in Mawlamyine, (2.46) inches in Ram Bree and (2.40) inches in Chaungsone.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Rakhine States.
