BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 16th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State,  fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and  Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (6-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
