SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.15) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (3.04) inches in Ye, (2.76) inches in Machanbaw, (2.60) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (2.56) inches in Dawei, (2.29) inches in Putao, (2.09) inches in Laiway, (1.93) inches in Mawlamyingyun, (1.77) inches in Theinzayet and (1.65) inches each in Thaton and Hainggyigyun.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State
