SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.84) inches in Mogaung, (4.14) inches in Ann, (3.78) inches in Kyaukpyu, (3.70) inches in Paung, (3.66) inches in Theinzayet, (3.58) inches in Thandwe, (3.50) inches each in Rambree and Shan-Ywar-Thit, (3.31) inches in Myawaddy, (3.23) inches each in Shwekyin and Hpa-an, (3.19) inches in Nyaunglaybin, (3.15) inches in Madauk and (3.11) inches in Bago.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Kachin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Wave height will be about (8 - 10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
