SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago Region and  Rakhine, Kayin States and isolated heavyfalls in Southern Shan, Chin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (16.14) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (9.29) inches in Kyauktaw, (9.13) inches in Kyaukpyu, (8.89) inches in Ann, (8.23) inches in Maungdaw, (7.00) inches in Minbya, (6.22) inches in Myauk U, (5.99) inches in Shwekyin, (5.71) inches in Madauk, (5.31) inches in Rathedaung, (5.20) inches in Hpa-an, (5.08) inches in Nyaunglaybin, (4.56) inches in Ponnagyun, (4.49) inches in Paletwa and (4.37) inches in Pinlaung.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon
