SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Chin, Rakhine, Kayin States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (9.37) inches in Paletwa, (5.87) inches in Myawaddy, (5.82) inches in Kawkareik, (3.91) inches in Buthidaung, (3.54) inches in Kyauktaw, (3.39) inches in Matupi, (2.95) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (2.87) inches in Hkamti, (2.85) inches in Paing Kyone, (2.70) inches in Kya- In-Seikkyi and (2.60) inches in Kyeikdon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 08th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) mph. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet off and along Rakhine Coast and (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon
