SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.84) inches each in Hkamti and Belin, (3.67) inches in Kawkareik, (3.60) inches in Paing Kyone, (3.46) inches in Kyauktaw, (3.20) inches in Kyeikdon, (3.07) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (2.88) inches in Hlaingbwe, (2.87) inches in Buthidaung, (2.58) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi and (2.44) inches in Myawaddy.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 06th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
