SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (22.75) inches in Mawlamyine, (14.09) inches in Mudon, (10.83) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (7.20) inches in Paung, (6.64) inches in Kyeikdon, (5.87) inches in Kawkareik, (4.96) inches in Chaungsone, (4.41) inches in Ye, (4.21) inches in Myeik, (4.20) inches in Kangyidaunt and (3.94) inches each in Kya-In-Seikkyi and Kyeikkhame.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
