SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (7.83) inches in Dawei, (7.68) inches in Launglon, (4.53) inches in Myeik, (4.06) inches in Mudon, (3.94) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (3.44) inches in Kyeikdon, (3.19) inches in Ngaputaw, (2.96) inches in Homalin, (2.72) inches in Paung, (2.44) inches in Mawlamyine, (2.40) inches in Kyeikkhame and (2.36) inches in Myaungmya.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Severe Tropical Strom“Talim” over the South China Sea is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and it is forecast to make landfall over Zhanjiang City, Guangdong, China tonight and then continue to move the coast of Southern China and Upper Vietnam.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Easrtern) Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Saging, Mandalay Regions and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) mph. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times  off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (7-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
